MOT
MOT testing is a legal requirement for most vehicles over three years old, but ambulances and taxis need an MOT at the end of year one.
The MOT makes sure the vehicle meets minimum safety and environmental standards required by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). We are proud to be an Authorised DVSA MOT Station.
We provide MOT Testing for most cars and vans, and the test is normally complete within the hour.
Normally you can wait in our comfortable reception, which has a CCTV showing you what is happening to your vehicle during the test, we have nothing to hide! However, due to Covid 19 this facility is very limited at the moment.
Without a valid MOT, your vehicle insurance may not cover your full insured risks. The MOT is mainly about safety, so don’t forget it’s probably your family who is most at risk from a defect.
Book your MOT early, so any repairs can be sorted out. We will automatically add any unexpired days from the old MOT onto your new one, as long as its no longer than one month less a day.
What happens to your vehicle during an MOT Test
Our qualified Technicians perform a series of safety inspections and tests to DVSA’s standards. Depending if the vehicle passes or fails, you will be issued with either a pass or fail certificate. A pass cert may have some minor defects or advisory items which will need attention soon. A failure will give a list of reasons for it, and again may have some minor defects and advisories which should still receive some attention.

If your car fails the MOT test our experienced team can repair and fix any faults, and in most cases, re-test your car for free. As well as MOT testing our fully qualified mechanics provide a full range of services including car servicing, brake pad replacement, exhausts repair, electrical diagnostics and fault finding. We can even sort out your air conditioning.
